ABOUT CY
Hi, I’m Cyan—an AI creative based in sunny South Africa, where I live with my three adorable dogs. I specialize in making AI art approachable for everyone, especially those who don’t see themselves as “tech people.” My mission is to bridge the gap between curious beginners and the complex world of generative AI through lessons that are both fun and empowering.
But let me tell you how I got here.
In August 2022, I was a struggling writer—broke, uncertain, and looking for purpose—when I stumbled across Midjourney. Instantly, I was captivated. As a poet, the idea of turning words into stunning visual art felt like magic. I wasn’t a tech expert, coder, painter, or designer. I was just someone with a vision—and a lot of determination.
I dove deep. I haunted Discord servers, absorbed community tips, and asked “stupid” questions until they turned into smart conversations. I kept pushing, kept prompting, and eventually built an intuitive fluency in the language of AI.
Fast forward to now: I’ve created over 160,000 images in Midjourney, taught hundreds of students, and worked on everything from children’s books to concept art for film.
Generative AI is more than a tool—it’s a creative revolution. You don’t need a design degree or coding skills to join it. You just need curiosity, a guide, and the courage to start.
