My Journey With Midjourney
My name is Cyan, I live in Durban, South Africa with my three adorable dogs.
Let me tell you the story about my journey to Midjourney.
A struggling writer, broke and looking for work I stumbled onto Midjourney in August 2022 and fell in love. As a poet being able to bring words to life is thrilling. I am not a tech person or a coder or a painter/ photographer/ graphic designer but I was determined and stubborn. Over months I scoured discord channels, communities, forums anywhere I could find instruction on how I could be a better prompter. I asked dumb questions until people stopped laughing and started answering. I prompted for 19 hours on my 38th birthday. Today I have generated over 110,000 images over thousands of hours in Midjourney. Turns out that a big vocabulary, creativity and grit comes in handy with prompting.

Developed character concepts for games.
Created prompts for businesses.
Done commissions for historical scholars.
Created marketing and social media content and prompts.
Consulted with international businesses.
Individually mentored more than 150 students.
Worked on Hollywood Movies
Helped to illustrate 7 books
This world is changing and I want to be a part of that. Paying my bills is a big motivation but honestly my passion for this AI knows no bounds. I sleep, eat and dream Midjourney.
