Buckle up because I have some exciting updates to share with you after the most recent office hours.

First things first, let's talk about Midjourney's latest updates. Version 5.1 is out and it's better than ever! This version is more consistent, opinionated, imaginative, and abstract. It's simpler and easier for beginners to use. By the end of the week, Midjourney will make this the default version for everyone.

But for those who want more control and a less opinionated approach, there's Raw Mode. This option is designed for advanced users who want to have more control over their image. So, whether you're a beginner or an expert, Midjourney has got you covered!

Permutation and Repeat are now available to $10 subscription users. Just be careful you don't use all your hours.

Now, let's talk about the new AI moderator system. This large language model very basically reads your text and compares it to a set of rules, then makes human-like judgments on unsafe words. But don't worry, if your content is blocked, you can always ask for an appeal. You get 25 appeals per day. The appeal does not count if the bot overturns the decision. Midjourney is letting through four times as many previously banned words as before, but they still want to improve the system. So, if you encounter any edge cases, please report them so they can continue to refine their approach.

With this approach Midjourney is really trying to build a system that is nuanced and welcoming for everyone. They're defaulting to PG-13 for the community. They are cautious about what kind of images could become a part of the Midjourney identity. They want to be more than just shock content. They're committed to creating a safe space for everyone, so make sure to read the community guidelines.

Speaking of images, Midjourney has plans to implement a transparent background on images at some point in the future, making it easier to incorporate them into your content. They are also working on 3D Midjourney, drawing too, consistent characters, and V6. Exciting stuff, right?

Finally, let's talk about Midjourney's billing. They've recently sent out a new billing email with a dedicated billing team, making it easier for users to manage their accounts. billing@midjourney.com

And if you sign up by Friday, you'll get a copy of the second edition of the Midjourney magazine.
