Welcome to another exciting update from the world of Midjourney AI! As your guide through this ever-evolving landscape, I'm thrilled to share the latest news straight from the December 6 Office Hour. For those who don't know every Wednesday, the brilliant minds behind Midjourney, including founder David Holz, gather on Discord to discuss new features, answer questions, and shape the future of our beloved AI. Let's dive into what's new and exciting in the upcoming Version 6 (v6) and so much more.

Right now the priority is V6 and getting website fully running. A batch downloader will come out this week for the website and organizing features should come out next week. They will be testing image generation on the website with the super users starting hopefully early next week.

V6 will hopefully be out for us to test out over the holiday break so I know what I'm asking Santa for. Inpainting (vary region) may not be available on initial release but we will have access to different aspect ratios and if anyone remembers the frustration that was the initial V4 release then that should make you very happy. The bigger batches of images mentioned previously will not make release but they are hoping to bring them out at a later stage. David says there will be a big improvement in natural language including understanding of things like camera angles. V6 is also writing some text which I know is going to be super fun. Image prompting is apparently going to be another thing taking a leap forward. David said something interesting he said they were taking a picture of that apple and changing the label. What that actually will look like I don't know but it definitely sounds promising.V6 will also be more sensitive to words in general so prompts will need to be cleaner with less meaningless words that the AI doesn't recognize.

They have noticed there may be a bias in the AI's aesthetic leaning towards the preferences of men (this is style not content) so they will be doing polls in an effort to rectify this, which, as a woman in the AI space, it is good to know Midjourney is looking out for us.

David said something in Office Hours he said a tsunami (the change AI will bring) is coming and a lot of people won't be prepared for it. Last year I actually created a prompt in December "**an artist surfing a tsunami coming out of a computer, depth of view, intricate and detailed, bright daylight, colorful and vibrant, radiant --style 4b --v 4" Not the greatest prompt but the concept was there of there being a wave of AI. So I am shining (waxing?) my surfboard as we speak.
